The objective of the network is to increase collaboration in the field of contemporary camera-based art within the Nordic countries and to generate a deeper, mutual knowledge about different artistic practices. The network also aims at generating deeper, mutual knowledge of different artistic practices both within the Nordic countries and within a broader international context.

Week 37
Since 2014 The Nordic Photography Network has arranged Week 37, as a platform to discuss medium-specific questions and showcase Nordic camera-based art. Week 37 includes exhibitions, seminars, and other presentation formats and was held in Oulu in 2014, Stockholm in 2015, and Oslo in 2016. In 2017 The Nordic Photography Network met in Aarhus, during its turn as the European Capital of Culture. But the meeting wasn't held in week 37 - for once it was held in August. In 2019 a meeting will be held at Gallery Hippolyte in Helsinki.
