Young Danish Photography '25

dansk dokumentarisme

Young Danish Photography is an annual exhibition at Fotografisk Center, which has showcased emerging talents and trends on the Danish photographic art scene since 1998, in collaboration with a guest curator. Young Danish Photographyis in 2025 curated in collaboration with Dansk Dokumentarisme with a focus on the climate and biodiversity crisis, as one of the greatest challenges of our time. The participating artists will be announced in 2025.

Dansk Dokumentarisme is founded by Sigrid Nygaard (photographer and photo editor at Dagbladet Information) and Emil Ryge (photographer and teacher of photography at KBH Film & Fotoskole). Through newsletters, podcasts and publications (including New Danish Photography in 2023 in collaboration with Spine Studio and Disko Bay), they select new, photographic work, relevant exhibitions, lectures and discussions. They focus on photographic documentary in the broadest sense, partly classic photojournalism, but especially on Danish work that pushes boundaries and tests new methods.
